A local team that does the job properly

Chiltern Energy Group was set up by Martin Prosser and Kyran Lacey because they kept seeing homeowners let down by national installers who carried out jobs without setting foot on the property first. We do things differently.

Who are the people behind Chiltern Energy Group?

Martin Prosser, co-founder of Chiltern Energy Group

Martin Prosser

Co-founder — Operations & Client Relations

Martin set up CEG after years in the trades sector, where he saw too many homeowners let down by national installers who never visited the property before quoting. He runs the business day-to-day and makes sure every job runs smoothly from first contact to final certificate.

CEG was built around a simple idea: local people deserve a local installer who actually knows the Chilterns, not a national operator working through postcodes.

Kyran Lacey, co-founder and lead engineer at Chiltern Energy Group

Kyran Lacey

Co-founder — Lead Engineer, NAPIT Registered

Kyran is the technical lead and carries out EV charger installations in-house. He is NAPIT-registered, which means every installation is self-certified under Part P of the Building Regulations. No council inspection required.

Kyran does not subcontract EV charger work to a third party. He assesses the property at the site survey, specifies the cable routes and charger, carries out the installation, and issues the Electrical Installation Certificate himself. That is how we can stand behind the quality.

18th Edition — BS 7671 Wiring Regulations
City & Guilds 2921-34 — EV Charging Installation
2391-52 — Inspection & Testing
NAPIT Registered — No. 76138
What do these qualifications mean?

How does Chiltern Energy Group approach every installation?

These are the things we will not compromise on.

1

We come to you

Every quote starts with a real site survey. No self-survey forms, no photo uploads, no guesswork. Our engineer visits your property, assesses the job, and gives you a fixed price on the day.

2

We say what we mean

If a heat pump is not right for your property yet, we say so. If your solar roof faces the wrong way, we tell you. We would rather be honest upfront than deal with a disappointed customer after installation.

3

We are local

We live and work in the Chilterns. When something needs fixing after installation, we come back within days. Not weeks. Being local is not just a marketing line. It is the whole point.

4

We keep it simple

Renewable energy has enough jargon. We explain things in plain English so you can make a decision with confidence. If you want the technical detail, we can provide it. If you just want to know the price and when we can start, that is fine too.

Which accreditations and certifications does Chiltern Energy Group hold?

Our accreditations are verifiable. They are not logos from an online form. They are certifications that require assessment and ongoing compliance.

NAPIT

Registered electrician. Part P Building Regulations compliance.

OZEV Approved

Approved installer for the OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant scheme.

UK IPO Trademark

Trademark registered. Classes 9 and 37. Joint owners Prosser & Lacey.

Why is a site survey non-negotiable before every installation?

A faulty EV charger means a car that will not charge. A solar system installed on the wrong roof will underperform for 25 years. Getting the assessment right before any work starts is not an extra. It is the job. That is why we do not offer remote quotes.

What do customers ask about Chiltern Energy Group?

Yes. We're a local business, not a national contractor. All our work is within the Chilterns — Amersham, Chesham, Great Missenden, Beaconsfield, High Wycombe, and surrounding villages.
Yes. Every job starts with a free in-person site survey. We visit your property, check the fuse board, assess cable routes, and confirm the right system before any work is agreed or quoted.
Yes. We're NAPIT-registered for electrical work, which means our installations are independently inspected and certified. This matters for your home insurance, product warranties, and when you come to sell your home.
Most home EV charger installations take 2–4 hours. Solar panel installations typically take one to two days depending on system size. We'll give you a clear timeframe at the survey stage.
